Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness
The Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness is designed to be completed part time over one year. The course comprises four subjects. Three subjects are delivered online and one subject is delivered at a one-week intensive residential held at the beginning of the year
The subjects you will study are:
- Leadership (residential)
- Agribusiness Management Economics
- Managing Markets
- Financial Management for Agribusiness
If a student successfully completes the four subjects required for the Graduate Certificate the student may be then eligible to transfer their enrolment to the Master of Agribusiness
Admission into the Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness
i. The Selection Committee will evaluate the applicant’s ability to pursue successfully the course using the following criteria:
- Undergraduate degree, or equivalent qualification and at least two years documented, relevant professional / management experience
Or
Documented, demonstrated understanding of complex systems in business, and at least five years documented, relevant professional / management experience.
ii. The Selection Committee may conduct interviews and tests and call for referee reports and employer references to elucidate any of the matters referred to above.
To maximize rewards from undertaking the course, students should have two to five years experience in the agribusiness field. It is not essential that students have an academic background in business or economics, however an understanding of the complex systems involved in agribusiness is assumed.
Articulation into the Masters Course
Candidates completing a Graduate/Postgraduate Certificate at a satisfactory level may be eligible to enrol in a Graduate /Postgraduate Diploma (and, in some cases, to coursework Masters). Similarly, candidates completing a Graduate/Postgraduate Diploma may be eligible to enrol in a Masters Degree. In all examples, the candidate must:
(a) pass all enrolled subjects, and
(b) achieve a satisfactory grade, expressed as the weighted average of all enrolled subjects in the Graduate/Postgraduate Certificate or Graduate/Postgraduate Diploma.
